The Children’s Ballet Theater Nutcracker is a charming rendition of the classic holiday tale about young Clara and her adventures, from a magnificent Christmas party, a battle with the Prince and Mouse King, a land of snow, and finally to meet the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Kingdom of Sweets. Audiences have been delighted for years by the exquisite classical training and acting skills of the young children and teens of the Children’s Ballet Theater in this Memphis treasure directed by Mary Van Dyke. Beautiful hand made costumes and amusing, lively choreography transport the audience to Clara's world in the late 1700’s. Included in the performance are guest dancers from Tennessee Ballet Theater, Erin Walter, Artistic Director. The performance is 90 minutes and will be held at the Cannon Center in downtown Memphis, on Sunday December 5 at 2:00pm. Tickets range from $25-$65. The Renasant parking garage is located just below the Cannon Center at 255 N. Main Street.
